Formation of Dark Magika

Dark magika, for all intents and purposes, does not form as naturally as other magika colors would. To create dark magika, two agents are typically required. Firstly, Void energy, typically supplied from other dark magika stones, or sourced from tiny void portals, and secondly, existing magika of another color aside from white. The void energy slowly leaches into nearby magika sources, transforming the crystal from it’s normal color to a purple hue, and making it give off more void energy. This growth then begins to convert other normal matter, growing in size and potency. In addition, a slower method exists, wherein void energy simply corrupts normal matter of some sort over time, requiring many months to years depending on the material. Unsurprisingly, magika resistant materials take more time to become corrupted, as do nullification stones hidden away in pockets of rock.

Coming into contact with a massive quantity of raw Dark Magika Stone, coming into contact with a Voidling, or using Dark Magika (per Scene, Not Per use) can all cause corruption within the individual.

Properties and Usage

Dark Magika is most commonly seen as a purplish form of normal magika crystals, consisting of a variety of crystalline structures dependent on the form of magika originally corrupted. Universally, the exact color of the stone depends on what was originally corrupted, ranging from red-violet to blue-violet, or possibly even a less saturated, grayish purple.

As a stone, Dark magika is near universally recognized as capable of causing debilitating effects in combat, ranging from being able to pull the life force of an enemy in the form of magikal energy from a target, to causing heavy sickness to organics, or rusting a machine. This level of power however, comes at a cost. Dark mages are, particularly if they use standard methods of using magika stones, vulnerable to dark magika corruption more so than others.

However, due to recent discoveries brought to light by Hi’vaa ‘Primal’ Sorcerers, an alternative method of use has been found. While normal magika channels energy like a magnifying lens, Dark Magika is best used to saturate magika energy with it’s properties. The energy is then used to cast.

Corruption

Long-term exposure to Dark Magika causes illness of various systems amongst almost all terrestrial life, and due to the aura corrupting nature of the magika, machinery as well. Unfortunately, this means that victims of Dark Magika poisoning almost uniformly experience a gradual decline over a span of time directly tied to the level of exposure, until eventually succumbing to the effects that span in different stages of the illness.

However, while it’s effects may appear physical and mental, the exact cause is on neither of these levels. Dark magika corruption itself is a slow poisoning of a being’s magikal aura, which over time results in a variety of symptoms as the very energy of the universe held within a patient is transformed into a form which, for all intents and purposes, is generally thought of as hostile to this universe.

What was not initially apparent, however, were the intra-organism mutations that could cause subtle to extreme mutations seen only within a few generations of exposure. The growth of Dark Magika crystals on the skin and flesh, increased resistance to the effects of Dark Magika poisoning, and even the ability of tissues to achieve accelerated cellular regeneration when in the presence of Dark Magika were originally only known to ancient Shivan researchers. In addition, due to the discovery of the Hi’vaa Sorcerers, mages skilled almost solely in the use of Dark Magika in such a way as to minimize, if not totally remove the risk of corruption to a dark mage. The intended target of a dark magika stone, however, is not so fortunate.

However, generally, exposure to Dark Magika will begin a spiral of corruption and a variety of symptoms that worsen over time, and even the most minute of exposures can, if let go long enough, lead to disastrous effects.

Cybernetics are not immune either. Metal endoskeletons would corrode and sprout dark magika crystals, causing synthetic materials to crystallize, harden, and break. All while crystals continue to bloom out. This would degrade strength of the components at first, cause malfunctioning sensors. Damage detection systems would be flagging everything in the same manner an organic would be feeling pain. The resulting feedback would overwhelm most I/O systems causing stuttering, lock-ups, and eventual system failure.

However, A newer strain of Corruption seems to be spreading as of late, seeming to not be as infectious or quick to grow in it's host. It takes longer to root itself inside the body and aura of those afflicted by Dark Magika's influence, but it's changes are rumored to be much more sinister. Anything from symbols and runes starting to form on the body, to visions and voices echoing in the minds of those suffering from it's effects. 

Still, the end effects seem to be generally the same.. Feral Madness and full body crystalization. However.. There are rumors of exceptions.. odd, strange.. rare cases.. More Research is needed. 

Stages of Corruption & Symptoms

Franky, the former senior of the Colony Hospital, and the first known mortal to make contact with Dark Magika after emerging from the Void after the 2130 Portal incident, conducted a EarthGOV funded study of the Void and Dark Magika extensively and provided detailed notes about their corruption stages and symptoms on those corrupted by studying a battery of test subjects. These results were further proved by later studies conducted by the Colony Hospital, Tribunal, and other groups. 

However, as time has gone on.. things have begun to change, leaving many to scramble for new ways to deal with the influence of Dark magika, as it has changed, Adapted. it's effects.. Different now. 

Cure

In the past there had been several known treatments for dark magika corruption and its symptoms, of varying effectiveness. Be it surgical treatments, liquid forms of white magika, applications of various forms of blue, white and even yellow magika, and combinations of all these.

But for unknown reasons, eventually the corruption adapted and changed, rendering these old methods obsolete. While Blue Magika still is capable to alleviate the symptoms of various stages of corruption temporarily, to some degree, it is unable to restore the body and soul of a corrupted victim to their former state.

Both the Order and the Sanctum have developed by now new methods to combat the corruption in their own ways, and are the best and only hope for anyone suffering from dark magika corruption.

Dark Corruption Effects

After successfully using Dark Magika in a scene, players are required to make a single d30 roll to determine an effect. The effects listed here have no impact on dice combat or item tokens in any way; and in some cases, will gain points of Corruption. Every five points gained advances the affected character to higher tier of corruption.

  • Stage 1: Minor headaches. Splotchy bruising on random parts of your body.
    In extreme cases, purple eye discoloration.
  • Stage 2: Sporadic migraines. Random nosebleeds. Ringing in the ears. This is in addition to the previous symptoms.
    In extreme cases, you hear soft whispers but cannot tell where they are coming from nor what is being said.
  • Stage 3: Ever present migraines. Frequent nosebleeds. Bruises contort into smudgy, indecipherable runes. You hear soft, muffled whispers around you at all times.
    In extreme cases, bleeding from the ears or corners of the eyes.
  • Stage 4: Headaches, migraines, and nosebleeds all cease. Bruises form into runic patterns but are indecipherable. Eyes are completely tinted purple. The whispers are clearly audible at times, conveying an esoteric sense of qualm.
    In extreme cases, purple crystalline growths form on random parts of your body.
  • Stage 5: You are rendered unable to equip White Magika abilities. Roll 1d3.
    • 1: Your mind shatters beneath the primordial influence on your aura. You are now a Husk of your old self, marked by crystals and glowing runes. You lose all sense of self preservation. Eating, drinking, and other every day tasks become secondary to the esoteric whispers in your head.
      Soon, you will wither away to nothing and die.
    • 2: Your body is unable to withstand the corruption. Crystallization rapidly spreads along your body, until you are rooted in place. Your voice echoes faintly from the crystalline structure you have become. You are unable to move or perform any actions. You will remain this way until Purged.
    • 3: Balance. The corruption has left you in perfect harmony with the effects on your body. At this stage the runes covering you glow with a soft light, and you tend to the crystals on your body like one may a prized plant or pet. Any time you come in contact with a dark magika crystal, it may painlessly attach to your body and grow into a physical cluster. These clusters may seem to wander at times, and cannot be hidden. The whispers are clearly audible, and you may feel a foreign influence on your aura at times. Your footfalls corrode the surfaces you walk upon, and objects you touch erode. Lights near you flicker and dim visibly. Your shadow appears disproportionate, twisting bizarrely at its extremities.

You may only have a total of 5 Stages of Corruption; it may be a combination of other colors aside from Dark but cannot include White. Corruption cannot be lost or removed through death; it must be purged. If your character dies and is revived, they will slowly regain all corruption stages they had in their previous life over the next 24 hours. Dying at Stage 5 will not allow you to re-roll the 1d3; to do so, you must be cleansed of all corruption and then advance back to Stage 5 once again.

23 The sound of sobbing echoes somewhere around you, but you see no one.
22 You see a shadowy, malformed figure out of the corner of your eye, but there is nobody there.
21 Your nose and ears bleed for the next 24 hours. A medical examination will show there is no cause for the bleeding, and that the blood is not your own.
20 For the next 24 hours, you think your hair is falling out, and you will see yourself as bald in any reflective surface you look into. You see your skin as weathered and decrepit.
19 Your shadow is that of a completely different entity for the next 24 hours. It may be of an entirely different race than your own.
18 For the next 24 hours, you do not recognize yourself. You are a stranger in your own body. Your limbs don't feel like your own; your thoughts feel alien. Friends, enemies, and allies become strangers.
17 The next time you speak, you instead speak in a different voice, gurgling out nonsensical phrases in languages nobody understands.
16 Your eyes flare up with an internal purple glow.
15 For the next hour, you can only speak in rhyme.
14 For the next 24 hours, you perceive all food as rotten and all beverages as stagnant. Upon tasting, liquids are like a disgusting, tepid gelatin; solids taste of ash. Only you can perceive this.
13 For the next 24 hours, you become infatuated with blood and rot and go out of your way to observe bleeding wounds & moldy objects regardless of the context.
12 For the next 24 hours, your most prized material possession appears decayed, damaged, and worn beyond repair. Only you can see this.
11 Your finger nails, claws, spikes, hair, or some other non-permanent features of your body takes on a purple tint.
10 For one hour, the weather in the area around you behaves unnaturally in a minor way. Breezes blow when there is no ventilation, lights cast shadows.
9 A strong wind blows through the scene, causing light sources to flicker and shut off. Everyone present feels that something malevolent has taken interest in them.
8 Nearby mirrors crack, and reflective surfaces twist images seen within into horrific shapes. A dreadful feeling of unavoidable inevitability hangs in the air.
7 Blood weeps from stone and various surfaces nearby. If there are any pictures or statues of people within this area, they appear to be crying blood while appearing emaciated and withered.
6 Shadowy apparitions and shapes suddenly begin to emerge in the location for a short time; none interact or pay direct attention to those around them. All of them are different depending on the one viewing them. The environment suddenly appears dirty, degraded, eroded, and unkempt.

White Corruption Effects

After successfully using White Magika in a scene, players are required to make a single d30 roll to determine an effect. The effects listed here have no impact on dice combat or item tokens in any way; and in some cases, will gain points of Corruption. Every five points gained advances the affected character to higher tier of corruption.

  • Stage 1: Minor headaches. You feel a growing need to move objects into proper orientation and location. Everything has a place, and should be put there.
    In Extreme Cases: White-gold eye discoloration.
  • Stage 2: Sporadic migraines. Random nosebleeds. You feel overrun by anxiety when you are not in control of any given situation. This is in addition to the previous symptoms.
    In Extreme Cases: Your nosebleed’s blood runs in a symmetrical, eerily ordered flow.
  • Stage 3: Ever present migraines. Frequent nosebleeds that continue to run in a symmetrical, eerily ordered flow. Your hair/chassis plating/scales appear to be set in exacted, neatly-set rows.
    In Extreme Cases: Bleeding from the ears or corners of the eyes may also occur.
  • Stage 4: Headaches, migraines, & nosebleeds cease. You feel a great sense of pride in your own self-perceived perfection. Eyes are completely tinted white-gold. You are obsessed with order in all things. You have an uncontrollable need to put anything ‘disorderly’ in perceived ‘order’. Your body is now nearly completely symmetrical in shape. You move with ordered, perfectly composed motion, as if every step you take was planned a day ahead.
    In Extreme Cases: White crystalline growths form on neat rows of your body.
  • Stage 5: You are rendered unable to equip Dark Magika abilities. Roll 1d3.
    • 1: Your mind shatters beneath the primordial influence on your aura. You are now a husk of your old self, marked by crystals and uncanny symmetry. You see every flaw possible in yourself, you compulsively take every action you can to fix the perceived flaws. You will eventually tear yourself apart as you pick apart every one of these flaws, mentally and physically.
      Soon, this state will cause irreversible damage to your body and die.
    • 2: Your body is unable to withstand the corruption. Crystallization rapidly spreads along your body, until you are rooted in place. Your voice echoes faintly from the crystalline structure you have become. You are unable to move or perform any actions. You will remain this way until Purged.
    • 3: Balance. The corruption has left you in perfect harmony with the effects on your body. The crystals about your body are perfectly symmetrical in every way, from any perceivable angle. You tend to them like one may a prized plant or pet. Any time you come in contact with a white magika crystal, it may painlessly attach to your body and grow into a physical cluster. These clusters may seem to wander at times, and cannot be hidden. Your body is completely symmetrical, with every bodily feature ordered into a near-geometrically pristine position. You remain compelled to ‘order’ everything and everyone.

You may only have a total of 5 Stages of Corruption; it may be a combination of other colors aside from White but may not include Dark. Corruption cannot be lost or removed through death; it must be purged. If your character dies and is revived, they will slowly regain all corruption stages they had in their previous life over the next 24 hours. Dying at Stage 5 will not allow you to re-roll the 1d3; to do so, you must be cleansed of all corruption and then advance back to Stage 5 once again.

27 Pictures and advertisements with faces appear to be people you know well- Old friends, Family members, ect. They all appear to be looking at you with extreme disdain. Only you can see this.
26 For the next hour, lights appear grayish, sterile, and desaturated. Only you can see this.
25 You suddenly & momentarily feel incredibly jealous. You can’t quite put your finger on why.
24 The smell of freshly-made food fills the area. Only you can smell it.
23 The sound of malicious snickering echoes somewhere behind you, but you see no one.
22 You see a shadowy, winged figure out of the corner of your eye, but there is nobody there.
21 Your nose & ears bleed for the next 24 hours. A medical examination will show there is no cause for the bleeding, and that the blood is not your own.
20 For the next 24 hours, you are convinced that you are clean and respectable in your appearance, no matter how dirty, filthy, or messy you actually appear to be.
19 Your shadow is that of a completely different entity for the next 24 hours. If you are a Human, your shadow may be that of a Mutant, Etc.
18 For the next 24 hours you feel invigorated and empowered. You feel more physically fit than ever before. You feel superior to everyone, including your friends and family. In your mind, you’re above them.

15 For the next hour, you can only speak in poetic verse.
14 For the next 24 hours, you no longer trust any drink or food that you did not prepare yourself. Any other food/drink, in your mind, is obviously poisoned.
13 For the next 24 hours, you become infatuated with your own appearance. Mirrors, reflective surfaces, the reverse-camera on your comlink- You’ll take any spare time you have to admire yourself.
12 For the next 24 hours, you are obsessed with sameness. Objects on shelves must be perfectly aligned, all surfaces clean of all dust, lights in the same room must be identical luminosity, ect.
11 Your fingernails, claws, spikes, hair, or some other non-permanent feature on your body takes on a white tint.
10 For one hour, the weather in the area around you behaves unnaturally in a minor way. (Breezes blow when there is no ventilation, lights cast shadows, etc.)
9 Barely audible, a high-pitched chiming of bells rings out through the scene. Everyone present gets the feeling that something malevolent has taken interest in them.
8 For the next 24 hours, you become absolutely uncompromising in your views. Anyone who states contrary to your opinions is clearly objectively wrong in every way.
7 Lamps, neon strips, and any other form of light source in the nearby area cracks and shatter; expelling a eerie, golden-white vapor. The vapor appears to phase through anything or anyone in contact with it.
6 The area is subject to an unearthly play of the light. Colors drain away, leaving the environment oddly desaturated grays. Soft, rounded edges appear as hard, cubic geometry. Flashing lights slow down and stop, frozen mid-flash. Cluttered objects rearrange themselves into geometrically pristine rows.

Red Corruption Effects

After successfully using Red Magika in a scene, players are required to make a single d30 roll to determine an effect. The effects listed here have no impact on dice combat or item tokens in any way; and in some cases, will gain points of Corruption. Every five points gained advances the affected character to higher tier of corruption.

  • Stage 1: Minor, sharp headaches akin to brain-freeze. The smell of burning hangs in your nostrils during each headache.
    In Extreme Cases: Red eye discoloration.
  • Stage 2: Hot and cold flashes. Your skin/exoskeleton infrequently becomes inflamed. Random nosebleeds.This is in addition to the previous symptoms.

In Extreme Cases: You hear faint crackling in your ears.

  • Stage 3: Lightning-pattern burn marks appear across your body. Frequent nosebleeds. Ash uncommonly sheds from your skin. You feel impulsive at all times.
    In Extreme Cases: Bleeding from the ears or corners of the eyes may also occur.
  • Stage 4: Headaches & nosebleeds cease. The lightning-pattern burn marks develop into charred, smoldering crags. Ash and glowing embers shed from within them. You find solace and beauty in destruction and displays of power, the bigger the better. Your eyes are completely tinted red.

In Extreme Cases: Red crystalline growths form on random parts of your body.

  • Stage 5: You are rendered unable to equip Blue Magika abilities. Roll 1d3.
    • 1: Your mind shatters beneath the primordial influence on your aura. You only think of destroying everything around you. You think yourself a force of nature. You must destroy for it is what you are. Electric flame burns across your body. You are now a Husk of your old self, marked by crystals and igneous crags.
      Soon, you will burn away and die.
    • 2: Your body is unable to withstand the corruption. Crystallization rapidly spreads along your body, until you are rooted in place. Your voice echoes faintly from the crystalline structure you have become. You are unable to move or perform any actions. You will remain this way until Purged.
    • 3: Balance. The corruption has left you in perfect harmony with the effects on your body. At this stage the igneous crags continuously expel plumes of ash, embers, and the occasional discharge of lightning. You tend to the crystals on your body like one may a prized plant or pet. Any time you come in contact with a red magika crystal, it may painlessly attach to your body and grow into a physical cluster. These clusters may seem to wander at times, and cannot be hidden. You remain extraordinarily impulsive, and mentally fueled by displays of power & destruction.

Corruption cannot be lost or removed through death; it must be purged. If your character dies and is revived, they will slowly regain all corruption stages they had in their previous life over the next 24 hours. 25 You feel an adrenaline-filled sensation akin to being physically attacked- But there’s nothing there.
24 The distinct scent of ozone fills the area. Only you can sense this.
23 You hear a crowd of people arguing around you, but there’s nobody there. Only you can hear this.
22 You see a shadowy, formless silhouette out of the corner of your eye, but there is nobody there.
21 Your nose & ears bleed for the next 24 hours. A medical examination will show there is no cause for the bleeding, and that the blood is not your own.
20 For the next 24 hours, you can smell burning hair, and will see yourself as engulfed in crackling, electric flame in any reflective surface you look into.

13 For the next 24 hours, you are obsessed with heat, fire, electricity, or any other energy source to speak of. You will go out of your way to observe these things for an unnaturally extended period of time.

Pick one: You feel electricity coursing through your veins, and you feel as if you’re being electrocuted from the inside-out. / You feel fire burning through your veins, and you feel as if you’re being burnt to ash from the inside-out. These effects last for ten minutes.

8 For the next 24 hours, you are emotionally volatile. Your passion for things you enjoy is overwhelming, you wish for the death of things you even slightly dislike, your love for those close to your heart is unstoppable. You feel compelled to express your feelings as much as possible.
7 Shadows dance and retract, seeming to detach from people and objects in the locale entirely, leaving the area very starkly lit. Ambient lighting becomes sharper, flaring painfully bright off of reflective surfaces.
6 A sweltering, blisteringly hot blast of wind ripples through the scene, picking up and blowing about loose objects & clutter. Volatile energy courses off of surfaces in the scene, discharging into the environment at random.

Blue Corruption Effects

After successfully using Blue Magika in a scene, players are required to make a single d30 roll to determine an effect. The effects listed here have no impact on dice combat or item tokens in any way; and in some cases, will gain points of Corruption. Every five points gained advances the affected character to higher tier of corruption.

  • Stage 1: Minor headaches. You tend to find yourself sweating profusely at times/Condensation forms on your chassis/carapace at odd times.
    In Extreme Cases: Blue eye discoloration.
  • Stage 2: Sporadic migraines. Clear water seems to constantly leak from your tear ducts and ears, your every touch leaving behind a slick sheen on whatever surface you touch. This is in addition to the previous symptoms.
    In Extreme Cases: A slight sheen accompanies your flesh/fur/carapace/chassis that makes the light reflect off of you in a strange shimmering, rippling fashion.
  • Stage 3: Ever present migraines. Frequent nosebleeds. Your hair/frills/wires/tendrils tend to flow through the air around you, as if caught in a constant slowly shifting tide. Your flesh constantly feels cool and clammy, but has a near permanent healthy tint to it. You feel a strong sense of compassion; you are certain to offer a few credits to a charity on a whim, or to stop and pick up the box of kittens someone has abandoned on the side of the street.
    In Extreme Cases: Droplets of water may drip from portions of your body at times, but they always evaporate away before they come into contact with any surface beyond yourself.
  • Stage 4: Headaches, & migraines cease. You move with a gentle certainness. Motes of water swirl around your form in constant flow, trailing behind your limbs before fading away into a cooling mist. The thoughts of harming another unnecessarily start to worry you intensely. Any time you feel you have wronged or hurt someone physically or mentally, you feel an unstoppable urge to make it right. Your eyes are completely tinted blue.
    In Extreme Cases: Blue crystalline growths form on random parts of your body, each slowly flowing with crystal clear water.
  • Stage 5: You are rendered unable to equip Red Magika abilities. Roll 1d3.
    • 1: Your mind shatters beneath the primordial influence on your aura. You are overtaken by the weight of the wrongs and harm others suffer. The thought of harming another can barely exist inside your mind now. You tend to your crystals like one would a prized plant or pet; and on touching a blue magika crystal, it may form into a natural cluster on your body.

You may only have a total of 5 Stages of Corruption; it may be a combination of other colors aside from Blue but cannot include stages of both Dark and White. Corruption cannot be lost or removed through death; it must be purged. If your character dies and is revived, they will slowly regain all corruption stages they had in their previous life over the next 24 hours. Dying at Stage 5 will not allow you to re-roll the 1d3; to do so, you must be cleansed of all corruption and then advance back to Stage 5 once again.

Yellow Corruption Effects

After successfully using Yellow Magika in a scene, players are required to make a single d30 roll to determine an effect. The effects listed here have no impact on dice combat or item tokens in any way; and in some cases, will gain points of Corruption. Every five points gained advances the affected character to higher tier of corruption.

  • Stage 1: Frequent yet short minor headaches. Your movements grow twitchy, and you find your patience running out more and more.
    In Extreme Cases: Yellow eye discoloration.
  • Stage 2: Sporadic migraines. Random nosebleeds. You feel the need to stay busy, working or otherwise. Any time you are lax, you grow exceedingly uncomfortable. This is in addition to the previous symptoms.
    In Extreme Cases: You at times will repeat motions or gestures, as if having forgotten you had done them in the first place. E.g; Open a can of soda, take a sip, & set it down. Only to open a new can of soda, take a sip, & set it down, spilling the first.
  • Stage 3: Ever present migraines. Frequent nosebleeds. You find yourself moving faster & faster to complete jobs. Daily chores are done in whatever fashion lets you finish them sooner, even if doing so may not make sense.
    In Extreme Cases: At times you may pause, running through options, ideas, and ways to do things, as if living out multiple outcomes right after the other, before deciding on what would be the fastest. To everyone else, you just zone out for a few seconds.
  • Stage 4: Headaches, migraines, & nosebleeds cease. Your every movement is that of speed. You cut through crowds with a level of expertise many would dream of. Everyone else appears to go painfully slow in your eyes as you seek to go faster and faster. Moving slowly or not moving at all borders on feeling physically painful. People & tasks that occur too ‘slowly’ make you exceedingly irritable, and you lose interest in these things at a rapid pace. Your eyes are completely tinted yellow.
    In Extreme Cases: Yellow crystalline growths form on random parts of your body. Soft after images & visual blurring may follow behind your faster movements.
  • Stage 5: You are rendered unable to equip Green Magika abilities. Roll 1d3.
    • 1: Your mind shatters beneath the primordial influence on your aura. You lose yourself in your own head. Every choice, every decision doubted and questioned. If you go one way, there may be another path that was faster. Every action is questioned Every movement steeped in doubt. Around you, all others seem to be in a constant blur of activity, of motion. However you are left there, standing still in your indecisiveness, unable to settle on a singular action when so many others cloud your mind.
      You will eventually wither away and die.
    • 2: Your body is unable to withstand the corruption. Crystallization rapidly spreads along your body, until you are rooted in place. Your voice echoes faintly from the crystalline structure you have become. You are unable to move or perform any actions. You will remain this way until Purged.
    • 3: Balance. The corruption has left you in perfect harmony with the effects on your body. Your crystals slide into more aerodynamic positions, and leave behind streaks of yellow light when you move. To others you appear to move almost in pulses, one moment beside them, the next across the room, tending to another task, and yet again you are elsewhere. While you don’t actually blink about instantly, your movements seem to lose time between them. You tend to the crystals on your body like one may a prized plant or pet. Any time you come in contact with a yellow magika crystal, it may painlessly attach to your body and grow into a physical cluster. These clusters may seem to wander at times, and cannot be hidden. You are deathly afraid of staying still for more than a mere few moments. When things can’t keep up with your tempo, you nearly instantly lose interest in them.

You will go out of your way to memorize every single option available on every form of media you interact with: Datanet shows, podcasts, radio broadcasts, bus station times, ect. The fact that every single second something is happening that you might miss exasperates you.

After successfully using Green Magika in a scene, players are required to make a single d30 roll to determine an effect. The effects listed here have no impact on dice combat or item tokens in any way; and in some cases, will gain points of Corruption.   • Stage 1: Minor headaches. You begin to keep exceptionally good care of your gear. spending a great deal of time on cleaning & checkups on your equipment.
    In Extreme Cases: Green eye discoloration.
  • Stage 2: Sporadic migraines. You hear your heartbeat in your ears, rhythmic thumps that keep the same. Exact. Beat. You focus even further on maintaining your equipment, feeling reluctant to let others work on it. .
    In Extreme Cases: You feel the need to keep your gear with you closely, even going so far as to strap, bind, or chain them to your clothing or body.
  • Stage 3: Ever present migraines. You start to value your equipment more than others. Your gear commonly taken apart, cleaned, maintained, then put back together, then tested, and taken apart again to improve it further. Your skin/chassis/carapace appears made of different material in sporadic patches, proving slightly tougher in those spots.
    In Extreme Cases: Your gear may start to take on an emerald hue along its edges where you maintain them especially well, strengthening the material. You are never seen without a weapon, at all times.
  • Stage 4: Headaches & migraines cease. At times people have trouble telling you and your gear apart, as it never seems to leave your side any longer. Things are removed in pieces, cleaned, then reattached. You feel compelled to ‘improve’ your physical movement, and consciously move in a more ‘efficient’, manner, bordering on robotic.
    In Extreme Cases: Green crystalline growths form on random parts of your body.
  • Stage 5: You are rendered unable to equip Yellow Magika abilities. Roll 1d3.
    • 1: Your mind shatters beneath the primordial influence on your aura.You are lost within your own equipment. Every new piece bolted, sewn, welded, or simply forced into place, no matter what it may do to the flesh beneath. The worst crime coming from when your own blood may mar it’s appearance, or clog the mechanisms. One day you are doomed to be found, standing there a dead husk, within an immaculate suit of armor and weaponry.
    • 2: Your body is unable to withstand the corruption. Crystallization rapidly spreads along your body, until you are rooted in place. Your voice echoes faintly from the crystalline structure you have become. You are unable to move or perform any actions. You will remain this way until Purged.
    • 3: Balance. The corruption has left you in perfect harmony with the effects on your body., and you tend to the crystals on your body like one may a prized plant or pet. You and your equipment are one. One can not tell where you end and it begins; your flesh is like armor, your eyes stare out like flares from within the recesses of your gear. Your melee weapons are an extension of your arm, Your guns the extension of your will. You are ever ready for battle, a glorious bastion etched with Green crystal and Efficiency. Any time you come in contact with a green magika crystal, it may painlessly attach to your body and grow into a physical cluster. These clusters may seem to wander at times, and cannot be hidden.
